Phil Spain 2017 small 2.jpgDr Stone and Paracelsus - The Hidden Connection

with Phil Young, PTP (England)

In this lecture I will be exploring the complex and perhaps unconscious identification between Dr Randolph Stone (1890-1981) and the great Swiss physician, Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim (1493 - 1541), more commonly known as simply Paracelsus, whose birthplace was in Einseideln. I will explore the various parallels in the life stories of both of these remarkable men. Our exploration will take us into the history of alchemy and medicine and why modern day Polarity Therapists could be seen as doctors in the Paracelsian tradition.

Phil Young is a master Polarity Practitioner and International Polarity Educator. Since 1984 he has travelled extensively in Europe, North America, Canada and South Africa and introduced polarity to thousands of individuals. He has an in-depth knowledge of Dr Stone's work and is an authority on the Structural aspect of Polarity. He is renowned for his ability to convey the  theory and practice of Polarity,  as set out by Stone, in a clear and accessible way, backed up by his work with thousands of clients. Phil is author of Polarity Therapy - where Energy meets Structure and Function and co-author with Morag Campbell of Holonomic Reflexology and Energy Psychology - Stress and the Body.

Phil has made it his life's work to keep spreading the word about Polarity Therapy. He is a past President of the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA), and in 2008 set up the Polarity Network, and in 2010 was a core member in establishing the International Polarity Education Alliance we know today.

Jim 2018-3.jpgReminiscences of Dr Stone

with Dr Jim Feil (Spain)

In this presentation I will be sharing as many stories and reminiscences of Dr Randolph Stone and some of his named successor Pierre Pannetier as I can remember in the moment. Hopefully, it will give you a unique insight into the personalities of these seminal figures in the creation and development of Polarity Therapy. It was a unique honour to be able to experience both of these men over a period of many years.

Dr Jim Feil, MA, DC, RPP, RCST has been in the field of complementary health care since 1970. He began his career in the healing arts by studying with Dr. Randolph Stone, founder of Polarity Therapy, from 1970 to 1973. He began practicing Polarity Therapy in California in 1973 and started teaching and training therapists in 1976. He was one of the founding directors of the American Polarity Therapy Association and has also served on the Spanish Polarity Therapy Association. Jim has continued to study, practice and teach a range of other therapies in conjunction with Polarity Therapy. He trained as a Doctor of Chiropractic, receiving his DC. Degree in 1987. Additional studies have include Formative Psychology, Craniosacral Biodynamics, Pre and Perinatal Therapy. He has had practices in California, Massachusetts, Barcelona and Zurich, and has taught in many parts of the world.

JohnB.jpgAdvances in Polarity Therpay and Sound Healing

with John Beaulieu N.D., Ph.D. (USA via ZOOM)

This presentation delves into Dr. Stone’s perspective on sound, referencing his view that “SOUND is the logical exponent for all energy and its law of progression applied to therapy, whatever the approach may be.” The discussion will highlight advances in Polarity Therapy and sound healing, examining their roles in energy work. Special attention will be paid to the five-star pattern, the Fibonacci series, and how these concepts are grounded in modern scientific and therapeutic practice within Polarity Therapy. Afterward, participants will experience a tuning fork demonstration informed by the mathematics behind the five-star pattern.

Dr John Beaulieu, N.D., Ph.D., is a prominent professional in the field of sound healing, recognized for his interdisciplinary approach to clinical practice. As cofounder of Biosonic Enterprises, Ltd, he has made notable advancements in sound therapy, particularly through pioneering work with tuning forks as therapeutic tools and research on the relationship between sound and neurotransmitters. Dr. Beaulieu is the author of several works, including Human Tuning, Sound Healing and Values Visualization, Fuzzy Logic and Sound Healing, and the forthcoming Human Tuning Vol II: Quantum Cranial. His leadership roles include serving as president of the American Polarity Therapy Association, pioneering APTA’s Standards for Practice and Education, authoring the Polarity Therapy Workbook, and contributing to the foundation of IPEA

IMG_0412.jpgSounding the Inner Terrain

with Mary Jo Hoven, PTP, RPE (USA)

Looking through Dr. Stone’s writings we can reflect upon many references and discussion of moving from gross or denser matter to finer essences of ether. e.g. in Polarity Therapy Vol 1 Book 1 Page 18

The center of any energy field ( the neutron or nucleus, etc) is the life and light of the sphere of action
around which the energy particles revolve and give it a solidified appearance
.

In each field are locked up mysteries of beauty as supersonic sound waves and transcendental displace of light waves as
chromosomes and rays of color that mortal eyes have not yet seen
.”

As Polarity Practitioners we support our life flow with gentle stretching, diet nutrition, communication facilitation, energy work and love.

Within our bodies and life around us are symphonies of sound. As within so without is more than a metaphor. All matter has vibration, therefore sound.

Rhythmic and vibratory flow help us keep our waters within fluid. Sound helps us stay liquid! Sound helps us dissolve congested unexpressed coagulated material in our body, like an inner waterfall. Sound as a tool we already have within us, such as breath and voice. Utilizing the sound of our own voice to create space and balance, clarifying the within and without nourishes us. Sound as an energy work differs from music. Sound is the teacher.

Together we can explore sound within the laboratory of our body. Starting with the Hum, grounding presence and listening within. Being present, open to listening, and asking our body what it needs is a key. Tracking with your intention and attention, utilizing the sound of our own voice to nourish, and vibrate our cells internally. It is through our dissonance that sound evolves into its harmonies. Sound as a tool helps us to free ourselves of congestions within, thus providing more space/ether to live currently.  We sound to get quiet. It’s with presence and the art of listening that we learn to express the sound of our body. Expressing the unexpressed through sound moves us out of story and helps support a free flow of our rivers within.

Mary Jo Hoven was introduced to Polarity Therapy by Suzanne Roberts in Ohio, USA in 1988. She graduated from Earthwise Polarity Therapy as an RPP in 2001, and RPE in 2003, with Dr. Damon Fazio. guay.jpgSelf-Polarity, a Key to Inner Transformation and Self-Healing
with Michelle Guay PTP (Canada)

We know that Polarity is amazing and allows a path towards overall well-being and health. In this presentation I propose that we look together at how and why Self-Polarity can play a fundamental and easy role in this process. We will explore how to use Self-Polarity for oneself and how to teach it to our clients, and we will talk about the overall impacts on all levels and how they interact:

• physical-emotional: relaxation, vitality, energy balance
• emotional: soothing, release of tensions
• mental: clarity, focus, confidence
• spiritual: connection, expansion, inner alignment

Why is Self-Polarity powerful?
For a lived understanding, we will experience together a simple, powerful Self-Polarity protocol, accessible to everyone and usable throughout our lives. A tool that we can pass on, share and practice independently. In short, it's a universal key to well-being. Sharing and comments will follow the experiment.

Michelle Guay is an author, speaker, therapist, and trainer in Polarity Therapy, has founded and led the Quebec Center for Integral Health Training for over 35 years. «NÜD»

Performance/ Soundbath/ Workshop

With Seraina Tall and assisted by Stefan Seeliger and Martial In-Albon (Switzerland)

«NÜD» is a finely woven artistic journey where movement, sound, and presence dissolve into one another. Created by Seraina Tall, the piece unfolds through live-looped vibrations—voices, breaths, and sound-healing instruments shaping a landscape that feels both raw and luminous.

At its heart lies the search for naked truth: the quiet revelation that emerges when all layers fall away. In *Rätoromanisch, «NÜD» means “naked”; in Swiss German, it means “nothing.” Between these meanings lives the essence of the work—what remains when we shed what is no longer ours, when vulnerability becomes a doorway to strength, and when the unfamiliar shape of our true self slowly comes into view.

«NÜD» is meant to travel, to meet new spaces and audiences, and to be held in dialogue with workshops, sound baths, and participatory formats. To let this vision unfold, so that its delicate, immersive world can continue to expand and resonate.

THE ARTISTS:
seraina.jpg

SERAINA TALL, PTP

Born 1974 is a trained stage dancer who expanded her studies from Zurich to France and later to New York. After receiving a scholarship with the renowned company “The Works” by Jennifer Muller in New York, she performed from 1996 onward with various dance companies in Switzerland and as a guest artist across Europe.

Alongside her work as a dancer and choreographer, she always continued her education, earning diplomas in Tai Ji, Ideokinesis, Pilates. and finally in Polarity.

Her work is defined by a deep receptivity to what is present in space and time, and by her ability to enter into resonance with the audience. She transforms these perceptions into movement and emotion, always collaborating with live music, sound, and other artistic disciplines. For  years, she has been performing as a solo dancer, working creatively and intuitively in the moment. Through her performances, she weaves together dance and energetic practice, creating spaces in which people can experience their own unique connection with the universe, dance, sound and healing.

martial.jpgSTEFAN SEELIGER, PTP
Sound enthusiast Stefan Seeliger combines his work as a Polarity therapist with his long-time passion for music as a DJ, live act, and producer of electronic music. In addition to regular sound baths using tuning forks and other therapeutic instruments, he has been creating sound journeys since 2023 that blend electronic music, field recordings, and loops from sound-healing instruments. His productions also incorporate Solfeggio and planetary frequencies as well as 432 Hz tuning, inviting listeners into immersive sonic landscapes.
For this performance, he supports the dancer with live recordings, weaving effects and loops into a deeply atmospheric soundscape.

stefan.jpgMARTIAL IN-ALBON, EPP
Born in 1986 in Unterägeri, Martial In-Albon discovered his passion for the trumpet at age 11. After classical training, he turned to jazz and improvisation, completing his Master’s degree in Music Education at the Lucerne School of Music in 2015. He currently researches the archaic sounds of the alphorn and conch-shell trumpets, using them performatively to connect with other art forms. He also integrates his experience as a Polarity therapist and other healing arts into his teaching, composing, and performing.

*Rätoromanisch is the fourth national language spoken in Switzerland and Seraina’s mother tongue.

Melanie2.pngMindfulness in Polarity – Embracing Light and Shadow
with Melanie Goumri, PTP, Certified Complementary Therapist Polarity
(Switzerland)

Mindfulness is often seen as a key to health, presence, and healing. But what happens when this attitude – consciously or unconsciously – shifts into an extreme?
This lecture opens a space for a nuanced reflection:
What is mindfulness truly – beyond withdrawal, self-optimization, or spiritual self-absorption?
How does it function between people – as a quality of relationship, regulation, and presence?
And how do we navigate the polarity of closeness and distance, self and other, silence and expression?
By drawing on the five pillars of Polarity Therapy, this talk explores mindfulness as a lived attitude that touches, challenges, and connects us.

Main Topics

• What is mindfulness – as an attitude, a practice, and a relational space?
• Mindfulness in the field of polarity: between self and other
• When mindfulness becomes avoidance or over-responsibility
• The role of the nervous system: trauma, stress, and the ability to be present
• Embodied mindfulness in the five pillars of Polarity Therapy
• Love as a regulating force in therapeutic relationship

There will be two interactive exercises in direct contact with participants, invitation to self-reflection, and supportive handout material.

Melanie Goumri is a certified Complementary Therapist Polarity (eidg. dipl.), a Somatic Experience Practitioner and a supervisor OdA KT. She is the current President of the Polarity Association Switzerland. Born in 1981 in Rinteln, Germany, a  fortunate coincidence brought her into contact with Polarity Therapy in Switzerland in 2014, whereupon she began training and expanded it through numerous advanced courses. What particularly inspires her about Polarity Therapy is its ability to harmonize the contrasting energies of different poles on multiple levels.

stricker.jpgPolarity, the 5 Elements and Family Constellations

with Claudia Striker PTP (Italy)

In the context of Polarity Therapy, systemic family constellations can be a valuable tool for making the theory both tangible and understandable. Through the direct experience of polarities e.g., yin and yang, the three gunas, the four elements, the five elements and the five-pointed star, the water and fire triangle in the Star of David, the seven chakras of the planets, and the twelve signs of the zodiac, participants can develop a deeper understanding of the concepts.

To experience Polarities, participants will position themselves in the room to explore different qualities such as active-passive; masculine-feminine. You will learn how to activate resources by ‘positioning’, strengthening, for example, by adding a missing element, or, by working with the 7 chakras to experience their interaction and thereby contribute to their harmonization.

We will explore some ideas for using systemic constellations in Polarity Therapy as an aid to visualizing and processing inner conflicts or ambivalences. Investigating constellations of a topic from the perspective of the 5 elements by viewing the elements as symbols for different aspects of life and personality and making them tangible. For example, if one element is dominant in a family, this can lead to imbalances e.g., too much fire (violence, aggression between the parents) can be balanced by too much water (emotions, empathy) in a child, who may then be quiet, inhibited, and shy. Too much air (rationality, intellect) can lead to highly sensitive, ADHD-like symptoms because it has to be balanced with an excessive water element (emotions). All these can be addressed through systemic constellations.

Making imbalances visible and addressing them can lead to deeper integration and balance.

Claudia Striker qualified as Polarity Therapist in Switzerland in 1990 through the school of Peter Wydler. She also trained with Dr James Z. Said in Impulse Work and trained at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in Milan. In the early 2000s she studied Family constellations with Navala Jansch - The Tao of Family Constellations and in 2017 Organizational and Structural Constellations With Lorenzo Campese in Milan. In 2024 completed Tamalpa Art Life Process, Freiburg.

"My recent professional development has increasingly focused on constellation work, where Polarity philosophy has become an integral part of the practice. Since 2020, I have been working with groups and individuals using constellations. From 2000 to 2018, I primarily worked with Polarity Yoga and my own personally developed style. Many years of experience guiding people and a constant interest in further education have made me the warm and empathetic facilitator I am today."

barbara.jpgHealing from the Right Side of the Brain

with Barbara Fahringer PTP (USA)

As polarity practitioners we learn the anatomy of the body, the energetic systems and many protocols.  We can use our left brain to utilize these techniques, and we can also allow our right brain, intuition and inner guidance to enhance our work.

The Hypnagogic / hypnopompic state between sleeping and waking / waking and sleeping is a special state for intuition, contacting spiritual worlds and doing healing.

Movement can be a way to enter the hypnagogic state and to access left brain intuition.  We will do movements that stimulate the trance state and also create a prayerful, spirit connection.

Our work is empowered when we are open to using prayer as part of our work. There is no one denomination or deity that must be adhered to, rather it is a deeply personal state of being in communication with the divine.

After we use movement to create a liminal space we will pair up to use intuitive movement as a healing technique that draws on our connections to spirit.

We will allow time for comments and sharing to help to deepen our understanding of this way of healing.

Barbara Fahringer has studied dance, movement and healing modalities as well as esoteric subjects for over 40 years. She is a Registered Polarity Practitioner, a New York State licensed massage therapist and has a bachelors degree in journalism and a masters degree in dance education. Her love of dance was further inspired when she joined the Sacred Dance Guild. She currently is on their board of directors and helps with their online journal. Barbara has also studied Astrology since 1985 and has been a speaker at astrological conferences since 1998.

phil gathering.jpgMorag.jpgThe Power of Rajas – An Exploration of Harmonic Technique

with Phil Young PTP and Morag Campbell PTP (England)

The body is not only designed to move it actually enjoys moving. When we are tense or stressed the body tightens, restricting its natural movement capabilities and inherent rhythm. As a result we feel ill at ease.

So often when people experience chronic pain in a part of their body they immobilize that part of the body as a defense. As a result complex layers of immobility are set up with accompanying anxiety. The mind is afraid of movement and the body has, in a sense, ‘forgotten’ how to move. Reminding the body of its movement capabilities is essential to healing. Not only does rhythmic movement increase mobility, it encourages the release of tension and holding to encourage better circulation, thus enabling the body to carry away held toxins into the area so any inhibition of the healing process is cleared.

A Rajasic session is designed to move the body at its natural frequencies to unlock tension and holding patterns in the muscles and to stimulate the flow of Prana or life energy.

“Consciousness is only possible through change;  change is only possible through movement.”  Aldous Huxley, The Art of Seeing

We will explore both the principles that underpin rajasic work as well as actual oscillatory body movement techniques to induce different frequencies of harmonic vibration in the body.

Phil Young is a former president of the American Polarity Therapy Association and a founder member and driving force behind The International Polarity Education Alliance. He is author of several books on Polarity, most notably, Polarity Therapy where Energy Meets Structure and Function.

She is author of several books on various aspects of Polarity Therapy such as Quinta Essentia -The Five Elements and Holonomic Reflexology  - an integrated whole body system from Polarity Therapy.

Ruedi.jpgGongbath
with Philipp Rüedi

A gong bath is a vacation from all the many distractions and obligations we face every day.

Our bodies are made up of approximately 70–80% water, which carries the gong’s frequencies and information down to the cellular level. In doing so, they have the potential to have a transformative and regenerative effect on our bodies. This can activate the body’s self-healing abilities.

Gong.jpgThe gong is your mirror and can connect you with your soul, taking you on a journey into your inner world.

I look forward to taking you on a short journey with my various gongs
